Most of us have needed urgent and/or emergent medical attention at some point in our lives. Hospital based emergency room departments can handle any type of medical issue 365 days of the year 24 hours a day. However, convenience comes with a very high price tag as anyone can attest when they receive the bill for their emergency room visit.
Urgent Care centers offer similar hours and convenience for non-life-threatening injury and illness, but again, the cost can be surprisingly high. Many primary care-based physician practices offer same day and/or walk-in appointments for acute injury or illness. This is by far the most economical option if you can be seen during regular office hours.
Common urgent care complaints that can be addressed at your physician’s office include:
|Abdominal Pain||Urinary Tract Infection|
|Allergic Reaction||Ear Pain|
|Sinus Infection||Minor Burns|
|Upset Stomach/Vomiting Diarrhea||Cuts and Lacerations|
|Cough/Cold/Flu/Upper Respiratory Infection/Sore Throat/Strep Throat|
