Annegret Kessler, RD
Annegret Kessler is a Registered Dietician as well as a Certified Diabetes Coordinator. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and General Dietetics in 1983 from Fontbonne College in Missouri. From there, Annegret went on to complete her graduate credits with the University of Minnesota Graduate Extension Division. At the same time, she completed her General Dietetic Internship with the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. She is a certified Diabetics Educator with the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators, a Certified Insulin Pump Trainer and is also a Registered Dietician under the Commission on Dietetic Registration. Annegret is a member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators, the Rocky Mountain Association of Diabetics Educators and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Diabetes Practice Group.
Annegret began her career as the Food Service Director and first full-time dietitian at Vail Health (then Vail Valley Medical Center) in 1985. She returned to Eagle County from Grand Junction last year with 17 years of experience as a Certified Diabetes Educator and Coordinator of the American Diabetes Association Recognized Program at St. Mary’s Medical Center and Community Hospital. During that time, Annegret was also a renal dietitian for DaVita Grand Junction Dialysis Center. She helped develop a weight loss surgery program at St. Mary’s and Community Hospital and conducted group weight loss programs, post-bariatric surgery nutrition classes, diabetes classes and monthly diabetes support groups. Annegret also spent some time in Denver, working for Fresenius Kidney Care as a renal dietitian and UCH Nephrology Group, where she helped conduct research projects in the hemo-dialysis population.
